The Certified Environmental Access Consultant (C.E.A.C.) credentialing program is administered by VGM Live At Home. Environmental Access is the process of adapting the workplace, residence and/or general environment to promote the independence, safety and functional ability for the physically challenged and aging individuals. The C.E.A.C .is a recognized certification for professionals creating accessibility or working in the environmental access field. The program consists of a 6 unit self-study educational program, unit reviews, and a comprehensive final exam. Upon successfully completing the entire program, you will hold the distinction of a Certified Environmental Access Consultant (C.E.A.C.).

This course offers an introduction to the Medicare program and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

This course discusses the care of individuals with dementia and is intended to meet the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements for dementia training. Topics covered include communication, behavior management, abuse prevention, and dementia. All staff working in the long-term care setting will increase their knowledge and skills in caring for people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia.

Patients have rights that health care providers are required to follow. These rights ensure that all patients are given choices, have the rights to refuse services or care, understand treatments, and receive quality care. This course is designed to give an overview of patient rights following the federal model patient bill of rights that are a condition of participation in Medicare and Medicaid. If the patient lacks decision-making ability or is legally incompetent, a designated surrogate, family member, or guardian can exercise the patient’s rights on their behalf. You will learn about various types of advance directives, which are legal documents that detail a patient’s health care preferences and end-of-life decisions.

This course is intended for all employees in the long-term care setting. You will learn what is social media, what privacy rights residents have related to social media, and types of possible criminal abuse via social media. You will study what the August 5, 2016 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) memo mandated that nursing homes do in regards to social media. In June 2016, the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) gave written guidance to members about what these policies may encompass, which will be discussed.

Chemicals used to make meth include ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, and phenylpropanolamine which are found in many cough and cold products and are known as “scheduled listed chemical products” (or SLCPs). Recent federal legislation requires all “regulated sellers” of products containing these three products to self-certify with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) before selling the products. While this course does not satisfy the DEA's self-certifying requirement, it does provide the information the DEA requires in order to self-certify.

This six-module Residential Accessible Bathroom Consultant (RABC) Program has been developed to educate the environmental access and home modifications professionals in accessible bathroom remodel design, construction, and alterations that safely resolve individual accessibility, bathing, toileting and personal hygiene needs. The program is designed to reduce the disparity in training and professional knowledge among people who evaluate, install, and maintain accessible bathroom remodels to provide residential access for people with physical challenges. This program also assists those studying for the Certified Environmental Access Consultant (CEAC) certification exam.
