Purpose: The certified medication aide will better understand depression and how it affects the aging population.
Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to
1. List and discuss the different types of depression.
2. Identify risk factors and causes of depression in the older adult.
3. List symptoms of depression.
4. Discuss treatment modalities for depression in this population.
5. Describe how to provide care for a person experiencing depression.
6. Examine current research on depression in older adults.
