The certified medication aide will review and update her understanding of pneumonia as well as the care and treatment of patients with the disease.
Description: This course is designed to inform nurses and health care workers in long-term care on the causes, prevention, and treatment of pneumonia.
Objectives: Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
1. Explain the diagnosis of pneumonia as well as its signs and symptoms.
2. Describe the most common causes for pneumonia.
3. Discuss risk factors for acquiring pneumonia.
4. Identify ways to prevent pneumonia in long-term care facilities.
5. Explain the treatment options for the most common types of pneumonia.
6. Describe health complications associated with pneumonia.
