This six-module Residential Transfer Lift Specialist (RTLS) Program has been developed to educate the environmental access and home modifications professionals in transfer lift system design, construction, and alterations that safely resolve individual mobility and accessibility needs. The program is designed to reduce disparity in training and professional knowledge among people who evaluate, design, install, and maintain transfer lifts for residential access for people with physical challenges. Regulations for long-term care vary from state to state. This course was adapted from best practices developed for long-term care nursing assistants. If you have questions regarding residents in your care, see the nurse in charge.
