CNA125 - Caring for Stroke Patients (2.0 HR)
A stroke is a medical emergency which occurs when blood flow to the brain is disrupted in some way. Prompt treatment can be lifesaving and may increase the likelihood of successful recovery. This course is designed to provide the nursing assistant with basic knowledge and understanding of stroke, including warning signs and tools to best care for a resident who has experienced a stroke.

Explain the different types of stroke and how they occur. 5. Identify effects of a stroke. 6. Summarize how to care for the person who has had a stroke, including treatment options and goals.
