To assure that facilities develop, implement, and maintain an Infection Prevention and Control Program in order to prevent, recognize, and control the onset and spread of infection in the health care facility.

This course provides an overview of the sections of the ANSI/RESNA Wheelchair Standards that pertain to the safety of wheelchair-seated passengers in motor vehicles. This course specifically addresses existing sections 18 and 19 and the pending section 20 (commonly called WC18, WC19 and WC20, respectively).

The certified nursing assistant will enhance his/her understanding of infection control practices when providing perineal care to residents.

This course helps health care workers understand the progression of the disease, at-risk populations, HIV prevention methods, Texas-specific laws regarding HIV, and treatment options.

The Antibiotic Stewardship Program is required to be incorporated in the overall infection prevention and control program.
