This course is a three-part module about DOT driver’s training.

Intended Audience: Location managers, billing managers, marketing/sales managers, regional managers, and other designated managers and supervisors. Use of the term supervisors will be used throughout this training as a generic term to include all in the intended audience.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Identify ways to recognize evidence of employee alcohol and other drug abuse.
2. Identify how to document employee alcohol and other drug abuse problems.
3. Identify how to conduct appropriate investigations related to substance abuse.
4. Identify how to validate and confront employees with substance abuse problems.
5. Identify ways to effectuate the basic requirements for drug testing.

This course is about the United States Department of Transportation’s (DOT) driver’s training as it pertains to the handling and transport of compressed oxygen cylinders in the support of patient care. The first chapter will address the safe handling, transport, and storage of compressed oxygen cylinders. The second chapter will cover the specific rules regarding U.S. DOT laws, such as the Materials of Trade (MOT) exceptions, and the regulations on the transport of compressed oxygen cylinders -- specifically when you are carrying a gross cylinder weight on a vehicle that is less than 1,000 pounds, but greater than 400 pounds. 

This course covers basic safety and component information, center of gravity, and operating hazards. You should complete this course before completing Part 2.

This course focuses on forklift inspection and operation, load handling, and forklift refueling. You should complete Part 1 of this series before completing this course.

Topics covered include communication, behavior management, abuse prevention, and dementia. All staff working in the long-term care setting will increase their knowledge and skills in caring for people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia.

This six-module Residential Ramp Consultant (RRC) Prep Program will give you the education you need to install ramps that safely resolve individual accessibility needs. This program will teach you the range of products and their uses, how to identify and recommend design modifications and the documentation necessary, the variety of personal mobility devices and how they relate to ramp design, ADA guidelines, and the overall complex role of the RRC.

CEAC applicants should pay close attention to any highlighted glossary terms and obtain additional resources when necessary to better understand topic areas.

Using ladders can be hazardous. This course describes the various types of ladders and explains how ladders can be used safely at work and at home. The material for this course is provided courtesy of the American Ladder Institute. Learning objectives: 1. Identify the types of ladders available on the market today; 2. Explain how to use each type of ladder safely; 3. Describe how to properly care for each type of ladder. In this course intended for nursing and management staff in the long-term care setting you will learn what is social media, what privacy rights residents have related to social media, and types of possible criminal abuse via social media. You will study what the August 5, 2016 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) memo mandated that nursing homes do in regards to social media, including creating and implementing policies, training staff, and responding and reporting allegations of abuse. In June 2016, the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) gave written guidance to members about what these policies may encompass, which will be discussed.

This course provides information about the types of health problems that indoor air contaminants can create, and recommendations that employers can implement to safeguard against those problems. Learning objectives: 1. List the primary sources of indoor air quality problems; 2. Identify the two types of building problems that cause employee complaints; 3. List the main indoor pollutants and sources; 4. Describe how to investigate office-related complaints; 5. Explain how OSHA conducts indoor air quality inspections; 6. This course will provide an overview of the issue of sexual harassment in the workplace, how it can be prevented, and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s (EEOC) process for receiving and resolving complaints.

The Aids to Daily Living Specialist (ADLS) credentialing program is administered by VGM Live At Home.
