SAFE002a - Forklift Safety Training - Part 1
This course is the first part of a two-part forklift training series designed to prepare employees for hands-on forklift training and evaluation. This course covers forklift fundamentals, basic safety principles, forklift components, center of gravity concepts, and common operating hazards. Employees should complete this course before progressing to Part 2.
Successful completion of this course does not authorize an employee to operate a forklift. Operators must also complete practical training and a hands-on evaluation before operating a powered industrial truck independently.

Learning objectives: 1. Identify the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) forklift training regulations. 2. Identify basic forklift components and classifying characteristics. 3. Identify factors that affect forklift stability and capacity. 4. Identify at least three potential hazards that can occur when operating a forklift. To successfully complete this course, you must attain a minimum score of 80% on the final exam and complete the course training survey.
