This course is the first part of a two-part forklift training series designed to prepare employees for hands-on forklift training and evaluation. This course covers forklift fundamentals, basic safety principles, forklift components, center of gravity concepts, and common operating hazards. Employees should complete this course before progressing to Part 2. 

Successful completion of this course does not authorize an employee to operate a forklift. Operators must also complete practical training and a hands-on evaluation before operating a powered industrial truck independently.

Successful completion of this course and the associated knowledge assessment does not authorize an employee to operate a forklift. Using ladders can be hazardous. This course describes the various types of ladders and explains how ladders can be used safely at work and at home.
