SAFE021 - Basic Home Safety
This course examines the types of hazards that can exist within a home, and what a person can do to protect those living within that home. This course also takes a look at how older adults, especially those with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia, can be protected within their home.

Learning objectives:
- Explain the difference between an unsafe act and an unsafe condition;
- List the top 5 hidden home hazards as identified by the Consumer Product Safety Commission;
- List the three leading causes of home injury death for persons 65 and older in the United States;
- Explain at least 4 steps you can take in order to provide a safe place for a person with dementia to live;
- Explain at least 5 things you can do in order to make sure a home supports the changing needs of a person with dementia.
To successfully complete this course, you must attain a minimum score of 80% on the final exam and complete the course training survey.
