This six-module Residential Grab Bar Specialist (RGBS) Program has been developed to educate the environmental access and home modifications professionals in grab bar, railings, and railing systems design, construction, and alterations that safely resolve individual mobility and accessibility needs. The program is designed to reduce disparity in training and professional knowledge among people who evaluate, design, install, and maintain grab bars, railings, and railing systems to provide residential access for people with physical challenges. This program also assists those studying for the Certified Environmental Access Consultant (CEAC) certification exam and the CEAC Mastery Program. This six-module Residential Ramp Consultant (RRC) Prep Program will give you the education you need to install ramps that safely resolve individual accessibility needs. This program will teach you the range of products and their uses, how to identify and recommend design modifications and the documentation necessary, the variety of personal mobility devices and how they relate to ramp design, ADA guidelines, and the overall complex role of the RRC.

VGM Education is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and is authorized to issue the IACET CEU. VGM Education is authorized by IACET to offer 0.3 CEUs for this program.

The program is designed to reduce the disparity in training and professional knowledge among people who evaluate, install, and maintain accessible bathroom remodels to provide residential access for people with physical challenges. This program also assists those studying for the Certified Environmental Access Consultant (CEAC) certification exam.

This course will provide the direct caregiver with guidelines for appropriate care of the cognitively impaired resident and provide strategies to manage challenging behaviors during the bathing experience. 

This course provides an overview of hepatitis B, how it is spread, its symptoms and diagnoses, and its vaccination.

The Aids to Daily Living Specialist (ADLS) credentialing program is administered by VGM Live At Home. This certification program is designed to assist the professional dealing in the retail environment of aids to daily living and accessibility items. The ADLS program is intended to reduce the disparity in training and knowledge found among professionals who evaluate and recommend solutions for the safety, comfort, and environmental access needs of aging and physically challenged individuals. The program consists of a three unit self-study educational program, unit reviews and a comprehensive final exam. Upon successfully completing the entire program, you will hold the distinction of being a certified Aids to Daily Living Specialist (ADLS). Note: This program will also assist those studying for the C.E.A.C. certification program.

This course reviews the impact of seating and positioning on pressure ulcer risk, and examines relevant interventions for prevention. You should complete the 3-course series called “Overview of Pressure Ulcer Etiology” (OWC006a, b and c) before starting this course.

This course defines home accessibility remodeling: a proactive housing and care alternative for persons with disabilities and others who wish to remain in their homes as their personal health changes and as they grow older.

Purpose: This is the final part of a three-part series exploring cultures, ethnicities, age-appropriate care, and historical issues that affect the present health care climate. ALL115a covers cultural competency in health care, ALL115b highlights age-specific considerations in health care, and ALL115c addresses past and current issues of the health care industry, such as racism and discrimination, and how to respond as an individual and facility.

In this course, learners will need to look not only at the systemic issues of racism in the industry, but also their own biases, prejudices, and influence on patients’/residents’ care. Becoming knowledgeable and more comfortable with often uncomfortable truths, acknowledging differences, and understanding the issues that both health care workers and patients/residents face are steps in breaking down historical barriers and broadening one’s perspectives.

The Home Safety Assessment Consultant (HSAC) education course will teach you how to perform professional Home Safety Assessments. People need to modify their homes for many different reasons. The most common would be that a family member is beset with a mobility impairment due to injury, or people in elderhood want to Age in Place and to upgrade their home to reduce fall risks. The HSAC course will teach you to assess the safety hazards of the whole living quarters from driveway to the entrance, and every room on every floor of the home. We provide a Home Assessment guide and evaluation process to follow along with tips on how to educate the consumer on the risks their home has and possible recommended solutions.
