Objectives: 1. Discuss the concepts of leadership and followership; 2. Define leadership; 3. Compare leadership and management; 4. Identify the evolution of leadership theories; 5. Compare and contrast the various leadership theories; 6. Identify skills and characteristics essential for the effective nurse leader; 7. Examine the concepts of culture and diversity; 8. Discuss leadership in the context of cultural diversity; 9. Examine the theoretical models of transcultural care.
