This course demonstrates how home accessibility remodeling programs can be developed, marketed, and successfully grown for the benefit of potential customers and the providers themselves, resulting in improved cash flow and profits.

This course reviews five different levels of home accessibility products and services and looks at some of the more common types of modifications that could be used in specific areas of a client’s home.

The Certified Environmental Access Consultant (C.E.A.C.) credentialing program is administered by VGM Live At Home. Environmental Access is the process of adapting the workplace, residence and/or general environment to promote the independence, safety and functional ability for the physically challenged and aging individuals. The C.E.A.C .is a recognized certification for professionals creating accessibility or working in the environmental access field. The program consists of a 6 unit self-study educational program, unit reviews, and a comprehensive final exam. Upon successfully completing the entire program, you will hold the distinction of a Certified Environmental Access Consultant (C.E.A.C.).

This six-module Residential Accessible Bathroom Consultant (RABC) Program has been developed to educate the environmental access and home modifications professionals in accessible bathroom remodel design, construction, and alterations that safely resolve individual accessibility, bathing, toileting and personal hygiene needs. The program is designed to reduce the disparity in training and professional knowledge among people who evaluate, install, and maintain accessible bathroom remodels to provide residential access for people with physical challenges. This program also assists those studying for the Certified Environmental Access Consultant (CEAC) certification exam.

The program is designed to reduce disparity in training and professional knowledge among people who evaluate, design, install, and maintain transfer lifts for residential access for people with physical challenges. This program also assists those studying for the Certified Environmental Access Consultant (CEAC) certification exam and the CEAC Mastery Program.

This course – along with part 3 of this series, “HMOD003 - Accessibility Design Solutions” – will guide you through the selling and designing of home modifications using an independent/assisted living strategy.

This is a six-module Stairlift Consultant (SLC) Program developed to educate the environmental access and home modifications professional in stairlift design and installation that safely resolves individual stairway accessibility needs. 

This six-module Residential Grab Bar Specialist (RGBS) Program has been developed to educate the environmental access and home modifications professionals in grab bar, railings, and railing systems design, construction, and alterations that safely resolve individual mobility and accessibility needs. The program is designed to reduce disparity in training and professional knowledge among people who evaluate, design, install, and maintain grab bars, railings, and railing systems to provide residential access for people with physical challenges. This program also assists those studying for the Certified Environmental Access Consultant (CEAC) certification exam and the CEAC Mastery Program. CEAC applicants should pay close attention to any highlighted glossary terms and obtain additional resources when necessary to better understand topic areas.

The participant will enhance their understanding of diseases, chronic illnesses, and mental issues that affect the older adult and discuss ways to promote healthy aging.

This course explains what home oxygen therapy is, the types of home oxygen therapy available today, and how the therapy can benefit the patient.

The nursing assistant will understand the importance of water for the health of older adults and develop skills to promote proper hydration in those under their care.

While effective communication should be a focus of home medical equipment specialists with all ages of patients, special attention should be paid to working with older adults as an increase in age can bring about medical conditions that may require more patience and an adjustment in how one provides and receives medical information. This course includes tips on how to better facilitate communication with older adult populations.

The Aids to Daily Living Specialist (ADLS) credentialing program is administered by VGM Live At Home. This certification program is designed to assist the professional dealing in the retail environment of aids to daily living and accessibility items. The ADLS program is intended to reduce the disparity in training and knowledge found among professionals who evaluate and recommend solutions for the safety, comfort, and environmental access needs of aging and physically challenged individuals. The program consists of a three unit self-study educational program, unit reviews and a comprehensive final exam. Upon successfully completing the entire program, you will hold the distinction of being a certified Aids to Daily Living Specialist (ADLS). Note: This program will also assist those studying for the C.E.A.C. certification program.

 Continuing education: VGM Education is authorized by IACET to offer 2 contact hours (0.2 CEUs) to participants who successfully complete this three-module program.

The Home Safety Assessment Consultant (HSAC) education course will teach you how to perform professional Home Safety Assessments. People need to modify their homes for many different reasons. The most common would be that a family member is beset with a mobility impairment due to injury, or people in elderhood want to Age in Place and to upgrade their home to reduce fall risks. The HSAC course will teach you to assess the safety hazards of the whole living quarters from driveway to the entrance, and every room on every floor of the home. We provide a Home Assessment guide and evaluation process to follow along with tips on how to educate the consumer on the risks their home has and possible recommended solutions.
