This course contains information about the prevalence and results of falls, and provides information that HME providers can share with their older clients to minimize the risk of falling. To successfully complete this course, you must attain a minimum score of 80% on the final exam and complete the course training survey.
Learning objectives:
- Describe the prevalence of falls among older adults in the U.S;
- Explain who is most susceptible to falls and resulting injuries;
- Describe the mostly likely outcomes from a fall by an older adult;
- List the most common risk factors that cause an older adult to fall;
- Explain how falls among older adults can be reduced or prevented.
