Health care providers will increase their understanding and skills for preventing falls and making the environment a safe place for resident care.
Purpose:
Preventing falls is a major concern in all health care facilities. Keeping the persons we serve safe despite their weakness, injury or confusion is often challenging for health care providers. This course will help you understand why individuals fall, how you can make the environment safer, and steps to take to prevent injury or harm to the person when a fall occurs.

Objectives: Upon completion, participants will be able to:
1. Explain how falls happen.
2. Identify risk factors
3. List strategies to put in place to prevent falls and fall related injuries.
4. Describe action to take if a fall occurs
