This course serves as an introduction to sleep-related disorders, focusing on Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). You should complete this course before completing the second part of this series, “RESP006 - Mastering and Expanding Your CPAP Market.”
This course is the first part of a 2-course series designed to assist the home medical equipment provider in evaluating the sleep-related segment of an HME business. This course serves as an introduction to sleep-related disorders, focusing on Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). You should complete this course before completing the second part of this series, “RESP006 - Mastering and Expanding Your CPAP Market.”
Learning objectives:
- Define apnea and the three types of apnea;
- Define Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA);
- Explain the effects of untreated OSA;
- Explain the method of diagnosing OSA in both a lab setting and in a home sleep study;
- Identify therapies available today for the treatment of OSA.
To successfully complete this course, you must attain a minimum score of 80% on the final exam and complete the course training survey.
