This course covers topics related to components of power mobility equipment (power wheelchairs and scooters) that most people don't give much thought to until something goes wrong: batteries.
Learning objectives:
- Explain the importance of batteries in power mobility equipment;
- Explain why batteries can be both hazardous and dangerous;
- Explain the differences between GEL, AGM and wet batteries;
- Identify the steps needed to ensure proper battery application and use;
- Determine the appropriate batteries for each customer.
To successfully complete this course, you must attain a minimum score of 80% on the final exam and complete the course training survey.
