Purpose: Employees working in health care facilities will increase their understanding of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements regarding lockout/tagout. Objectives: 1. Discuss the OSHA standard for lockout/tagout; 2. Increase understanding of the importance of controlling hazardous energy sources; 3. Identify the OSHA performance requirements for controlling hazardous energy; 4. List the steps in the energy control procedure; 5. List the requirements for lockout/tagout devices; 6. Discuss what needs to be included in an employee training program.
