OWC001b - Overview of Ostomies - Part 2

This is the second of a two-part series of courses that introduce you to ostomies and the basics of ostomy care and management. This course will explain ileostomies and urostomies, and discuss common problems and issues associated with ostomies.

Learning objectives:

1. Explain why an ileostomy would be performed; 
2. Identify the types of ileostomies that can be performed; 
3. Explain why a urostomy would be performed; 
4. Identify the types of urostomies that can be performed; 
5. Describe the basic ostomy management and care procedures; 
6. Explain additional concerns of an ostomy patient.

To successfully complete this course, you must attain a minimum score of 80% on the final exam and complete the course training survey.
