Enhances the participant's knowledge of HIV and AIDS.
Purpose: To enhance the participant’s knowledge of HIV and AIDS.
Objectives: Upon completion of this online course, the participant will be able to…
1. Describe and differentiate between HIV and AIDS.
2. Explain how HIV can be transmitted.
3. Identify opportunistic infections/diseases that may occur with the HIV patient.
4. Discuss drug treatment and clinical management of HIV/AIDS.
5. Discuss methods to prevent transmission of HIV/AIDS and infection control procedures to use in the workplace.
6. Explain exposure management.
7. Discuss the impact of current Florida law on testing, confidentiality of test results, treatment of patients and appropriate protocols/procedures for counseling, testing, reporting, testing pregnant women and partner notification.
