The health care professional will enhance his or her knowledge of type 2 diabetes and treatment for the disease.
Objectives:
Upon completion of this self-study, participants will be able to:
1. Discuss type 2 diabetes.
2. List the risk factors for type 2 diabetes.
3. Discuss the symptoms of type 2 diabetes.
4. Explain the symptoms and treatment for hypo- and hyperglycemia.
5. Discuss exams and tests for type 2 diabetes.
6. Explore medications used in the treatment of the disease.
7. Discuss care of the diabetic patient.
8. Identify complications related to type 2 diabetes.
