The word “dementia” is a general term that describes a collection of symptoms caused by a number of different disorders that affect the brain. This course provides an overview of the types, causes, risk factors, and treatments of and for dementia.
Learning objectives:
- Define dementia;
- Identify the types of dementia;
- Describe the signs and symptoms of dementia;
- Explain the risk factors for dementia;
- Describe the tests used to diagnose Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias;
- Discuss the treatments for and methods of coping with dementia.
- To successfully complete this course, you must attain a minimum score of 80% on the final exam and complete the course training survey.
