Keeping blood glucose at a healthy level will prevent or slow down diabetes problems. This course describes what people can do to keep their blood glucose at a healthy level. Before taking this course, you should complete the course DMGT010 - Overview of Diabetes. To successfully complete this course, you must attain a minimum score of 80% on the final exam and complete the course training survey.
Learning objectives:
- Explain how food affects blood glucose;
- Explain how what and when a person eats affect their diabetes;
- Describe the signs of hypoglycemia;
- Explain how, by eating the recommended servings of the groups that make up the Food Pyramid, a person can reduce his or her risk of diabetes;
- Explain how to measure food servings.
