The nursing assistant will enhance her understanding of the mechanisms that contribute to COPD and how to care for the person served who has COPD.
Purpose: The nursing assistant will enhance her understanding of the mechanisms that contribute to COPD and how to care for the person served who has COPD.
Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to
1. Discuss COPD.
2. Explain structures of the respiratory system and how respiration occurs.
3. Describe symptoms of COPD.
4. List problems that can affect the person served with COPD and action steps (interventions) the nursing assistant can take to reduce those problems.
