This course introduces positive airway pressure (PAP) devices, and discusses proper billing procedures for reimbursement from Medicare and other third party payers who follow the same criteria.
This course introduces positive airway pressure (PAP) devices, and discusses proper billing procedures for reimbursement from Medicare and other third party payors who follow the same criteria. To successfully complete this course, you must attain a minimum score of 80 percent on the final exam and complete the course training survey.
Learning objectives:
- Describe the changes in Medicare reimbursement rules that have occurred to the local coverage determination (LCD) PAP policy.;
- Explain the current reimbursement coverage requirements including the required in person visit the patient must have with the treating physician.;
- Explain when an Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) must be used when providing a CPAP device to a Medicare beneficiary;
- Identify the criteria by which a CPAP is covered by Medicare.
