ALL115a covers cultural competency in health care, ALL115b highlights age-specific considerations in health care, and ALL115c addresses past and current issues of the health care industry, such as racism and discrimination, and how to respond as an individual and facility.

Objectives

Upon completion, you will be able to:

1.           Identify age-specific considerations to provide care for neonate to preschool, school age children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric persons.

2.           Explain key developmental tasks for adults in the latter stages of Erik Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development.

3.           Differentiate how health care providers should communicate with patients and residents at each age – from neonate to geriatric.
