Purpose:

Health care professionals working in a variety of settings will review and gain knowledge of the disease tuberculosis.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

1. Understand the prevalence of tuberculosis.
2. Describe the causes of TB and how it is spread.
3. Identify the symptoms of active TB.
4. Discuss diagnostic tests for TB.
5. Explain the TB skin test and the interpretation of reactions.
6. Discuss appropriate treatment for active TB.
