The health care worker will better understand latex allergy, its causes, those at risk, signs and symptoms of a reaction, diagnosing latex allergy, and proper documentation.

The use of latex gloves by health care workers has increased since infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS and hepatitis B have become more prevalent. As a result, latex allergies have become a serious health care problem in recent years. Through this course, health care personnel will increase their knowledge of latex sensitivity and latex allergy, including risks, diagnosis, and treatment. There is discussion of how latex allergy impacts the safety of patients and health care workers.
