This course will explain how the aging process contributes to chronic kidney disease. To successfully complete this course, you must attain a minimum score of 80 percent on the final exam and complete the course training survey.


Learning objectives:

  1. Explain the functions of the kidneys; 
  2. Describe the effects of aging on the kidneys and chronic kidney disease (CKD); 
  3. Explain the causes and risk factors of CKD; 
  4. Describe the symptoms of CKD; 
  5. Discuss what can be done to treat and prevent CKD in the elderly.
