You will study what the August 5, 2016 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) memo mandated that nursing homes do in regards to social media, including creating and implementing policies, training staff, and responding and reporting allegations of abuse. In June 2016, the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) gave written guidance to members about what these policies may encompass, which will be discussed.
