REHB003c - Seating & Mobility: Choosing a Seat Cushion and Back Support
This course focuses on the considerations in choosing a seat. You should complete parts 1 and 2 of this series (“REHB003a - Seating & Mobility: Evaluation” and “REHB003b - Seating & Mobility: Recommendation and Funding”) prior to taking this course.
This is the third of a 3-part series of courses designed to inform the home medical equipment provider about the seating and mobility process: evaluation of the client, recommendation of equipment and determination of funding sources and selecting the proper seating equipment for a particular client. This course focuses on the considerations in choosing a seat. You should complete parts 1 and 2 of this series (“REHB003a - Seating & Mobility: Evaluation” and “REHB003b - Seating & Mobility: Recommendation and Funding”) prior to taking this course.
Learning objectives:
- Describe how seating components support a client's physical form;
- Explain how to decipher which seating/positioning products will provide necessary support and accommodate each client's needs;
- Explain how all seating and positioning systems must start with the appropriate positioning of each client's pelvis as the base of support.
To successfully complete this course, you must attain a minimum score of 80% on the final exam and complete the course training survey.
