After completing this course, you will be able to:

  1. Explain the symptoms of and risk factors for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
  2. Discuss the risks of having sleep apnea.
  3. Compare the differences between continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), automatic continuous positive airway pressure (APAP), and bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP) devices.
  4. Describe the role of the physician in obtaining positive airway pressure (PAP) devices
  5. Identify the end goals of PAP therapy.
  6. Explain how patients can safely use PAP devices.
