U.S. Rehab has partnered with the DMERT Group to offer three different levels of credentials to establish standardized training guidelines. The courses offered in Level 1 cover training areas of basic medical equipment, including:
- Manual Equipment Foundations
- Basic ADLs & Rollators
- Manual Wheelchairs
- Tilt-in-Space Wheelchairs
- Electronics Theory
- Patient Lifts, Standing Frames, and Hospital Beds
- Lift Chairs
- Scooters: Components and Troubleshooting
- Batteries – Theory and Troubleshooting
- Joysticks & Programming
The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology Continuing Education (RSTCE) is certifying the educational contact hours of this program and by doing so is in no way endorsing any specific content, company, or product. Continuing Education: 1.25 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be awarded to individuals for attending 12.5 hours of instruction; The DMERT Group approves the 1.25 CEUs to sit for the Durable Medical Equipment Repair Technician (DMERT) Level 1 exam or recertification.
